Dance

My ‘little’ Grace is growing up and for her 10th birthday, she wanted a cake to reflect all her various interests, especially dance! On the sides, we also put fondant decorations to show her love for art, music and even, (gasp!) school! I wonder what Grace will love ten years from now?

Pink Hat

My Leah’s 9th birthday cake, using homemade modeling chocolate (thanks for the tip, Jose’!). She loves pink, as you can see! I used actual wicker to get the texture on the pink hat, and brushed on edible brown powdered paint to give the hat more definition. Underneath was a yummy chocolate butter cake with cookies and cream filling, one of Leah’s favorites.

My first paid wedding cake, not done for a relative! They wanted real roses and square, fondant-covered tiers and the initial topper was handmade by one of the fathers.

I was so happy to step in for this talented mom and deliver a cake that she loved. I thought the cake topper …

Wedding anniversaries are special occasions, especially when you hit the ‘big’ numbers. This was for a 50th, a major milestone for any couple. I added red jewels and pearls for the classy ‘bride’, one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. It was a true joy to create this cake for them.

My all time favorite cake design, ever! We had just adopted our younger three and Josh was turning 12. I wanted to do something to make him feel special, as he was no longer the ‘baby’ in our family. He was at a local kids camp on his birthday, so I made arrangements to bring this creation to camp to share …

Peacock

Danielle’s 18th birthday cake had to be something special….and this peacock took the cake! I lost count of the feathers (at least 50) and I used modeling chocolate for the peacock’s body. We used some of the extra feathers to decorate the table.
